Haryana Govt Calendar

How the Haryana list works

  1. Schedule-I — Gazetted holidays. All Saturdays and Sundays, plus about twenty festivals and anniversaries. If a festival falls on a closed day, it is shown in a separate note and not shifted.
  2. Schedule-II — Restricted holidays. Any three per employee, including outsourced staff — Teej, Karva Chauth, Govardhan Puja, Chhath, Good Friday, Muharram and others.
  3. Schedule-III — NI Act holidays. Days on which banks and other institutions covered by the Negotiable Instruments Act close in Haryana, including 1 April for annual closing.
  4. Schedule-IV — Special Days. About twenty anniversaries — Hasan Khan Mewati, Veer Banda Bairagi, Sant Dhanna Bhagat, Guru Jambheshwar, Jhalkari Bai — that are celebrated without a holiday.

Days only Haryana marks

Sir Chhotu Ram Jayanti (kept on Basant Panchami), Shaheedi Diwas on 23 March, Shaheed Udham Singh's martyrdom on 31 July, Haryana Veer evam Shaheedi Diwas on 23 September, Maharaja Agrasen Jayanti and Vishwakarma Day the day after Diwali make Haryana's list different from every neighbour's.
