On Kartik Purnima, Bilaspur in Yamunanagar district hosts the Kapal Mochan mela, one of the largest fairs of north India. Pilgrims bathe in the Kapal Mochan, Rin Mochan and Surya kunds, and because Guru Nanak and Guru Gobind Singh are associated with the place, Hindus and Sikhs share the fair. The district administration runs it for about five days around the Purnima.
